Your next career opportunity
As the RCS Product Manager, you'll spearhead the product management capability for Research Computing Services at the University of Melbourne. You'll have the opportunity to lead product strategies from ideation to delivery, work closely with stakeholders to enhance researcher experiences, and drive data-driven improvements. Your expertise will directly impact the university's research technology landscape, offering you a chance to innovate and shape the future of research computing solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Product Leadership: Develop and execute RCS product strategies and roadmaps, aligning with business goals and researcher needs.
- User-Centric Innovation: Lead user feedback and discovery processes, collaborating with product owners to drive product improvements.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize product performance using data-driven insights and success metrics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Service Now and RCS Service leads to align products with Business Services' centralized processes.
- Team Leadership: Supervise the RCS Research Experience Lead, providing guidance for professional development.
You may be a great fit if:
You are an experienced product management professional with a strong background in IT service development and delivery, possessing excellent stakeholder management skills and a passion for driving innovation in research technology solutions.
You may also:
- Have a relevant tertiary degree and significant experience in product management.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of product management best practices and frameworks.
- Possess experience in implementing and maturing ITIL practices in an IT environment.
- Have a track record of successfully leading and delivering projects within budget and scope.
- Excel at managing stakeholders and projects with competing priorities.
- Be adept at using data-driven insights to inform product decisions and improvements.

Your new team – Research Computing Services
Research Computing Services (RCS) is a department within Business Services. RCS delivers the digital research infrastructure and services for researchers at The University of Melbourne. RCS operate on- premise High-Performance Computing (HPC), Cloud Computing and General-Purpose Graphical Processing Unit (GPGPU) computational platforms. RCS operate over 20 PB of research data storage to enable data-driven research and collaboration and a range of data management services and provide a range of consultation services to support the development of custom computation and data management solutions. RCS also contributes to the national eResearch infrastructure initiative the ARDC’s Nectar Research Cloud and facilitate access to Australia’s national supercomputer facility NCI.
