Strategic Projects Coordinator (Two Positions Available)

Salary: UoM 7 - $106,432 - $115,211 p.a. plus 17% super

Your next career opportunity 
As the Strategic Projects Coordinator in the Faculty of Science, you'll play a pivotal role in driving key initiatives that contribute towards the Faculty’s strategic objectives (particularly within the Student Academic Services team). You'll work closely with Associate Deans and Program Directors, providing crucial operational support and coordination across a range of strategic projects. This role offers you the opportunity to develop your project management skills, and collaborative leadership, to make meaningful impact.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Manage Strategic Projects: Coordinate various stages of project lifecycles, from planning to evaluation, using appropriate project management methodologies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain positive relationships with diverse range of internal and external stakeholders across the university and beyond.
  • Provide Analytical Support: Conduct benchtop research, analyse business data sets, and prepare reports and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Streamline processes and communication to enhance efficiency and clarity in project delivery. 

You may be a great fit if: 

You are an agile, strategic and systems thinker with excellent project management skills, able to navigate complex higher education environments and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders groups to drive successful outcomes and improvements. As a team player, you possess good work ethics and collaboration skills. 

You may also: 

  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification and/or relevant project management qualification and training.
  • Have experience in strategic-level project coordination within higher education.
  • Possess excellent organisational and time management skills. Demonstrate strong communication abilities.
  • Be adaptable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

The Science Secretariat is the administrative unit for the Faculty of Science and all its teaching, research, and commercial activities.  The Secretariat is responsible for the policy development, planning, implementation, and ongoing management of Faculty programs. 

The Student and Academic Services (SAS) team is the largest group within the Secretariat, with responsibility for curriculum and teaching support, graduate research admission and candidature management, scholarships and awards, student experience programs, careers and industry engagement and indigenous engagement and school outreach.
