Your next career opportunity
As a Senior Research Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the University's research community. You'll provide specialist financial advice, mentor team members, and enhance reporting capabilities. This role offers you the opportunity to work with diverse stakeholders, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and shape the financial management of cutting-edge research projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead Financial Reporting: Oversee research grant reporting, ensure compliance with funding rules, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor and Support Team: Provide guidance, training, and support to Research Accountants, fostering their professional development.
  • Enhance Reporting Processes: Develop and maintain automated reporting solutions, streamlining financial processes and improving efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal departments and external agencies, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

You will be a great fit if:

You are an experienced finance professional with a strong background in research accounting, possessing excellent analytical skills, and the ability to mentor team members while driving process improvements in a complex university environment.

You may also:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CA or CPA qualification (preferred).
  • Have demonstrated experience in complex account reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of data extraction, transformation, and reporting methods.
  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
  • Have experience in developing financial reporting solutions in complex organisations.
