About the Role
Are you ready to take the lead in shaping the future of diabetes research? As a Training Program Manager at The Australian Centre for Accelerating Diabetes Innovations (ACADI), you will oversee a national training program that equips the next generation of researchers with vital skills in clinical trials, commercialisation, and research translation - making a direct impact on diabetes care and health outcomes.

Working in a collaborative and high-energy environment, you will engage with leading researchers, industry experts, and healthcare leaders, building invaluable networks and opportunities for career development. With a diverse mix of stakeholder engagement, event coordination, program management, and resource development, no two days will be the same!

This part-time (4 days/week) role, based in the world-class Melbourne Biomedical Precinct at Melbourne Connect, offers hybrid working options and the flexibility to balance work and life while contributing to a program that truly makes a difference.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the ACADI Training Lead and the Training Advisory Group to set the vision, strategy and operational plan for the Training Program
  • Coordinate and operationalise the Training Program to develop a pipeline of researchers skilled in diabetes research translation and commercialisation
  • Lead outreach activities, including the monthly seminars, social media, annual conference, health technology innovation challenge and other projects or activities developed in conjunction with the ACADI senior team
  • Work with industry partners to develop relevant opportunities for ACADI trainees to enhance healthcare innovation and translation experience
  • Develop and coordinate a range of seminars and events for the ACADI community, including the ACADI Monthly Seminar Series, the annual HealthTech Innovation Challenge, and the ACADI annual conference

You will also have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and extensive relevant experience
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • High level interpersonal communication skills with the ability to liaise; negotiate; influence; establish and maintain relationships with a range of key stakeholders including academics, practitioners and senior executives
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously, with considerable independence and exercise judgement and initiative
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical or healthcare sector research projects is desirable

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
