Your next career opportunity
You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of science infrastructure at the University of Melbourne. As the Coordinator, Operational Planning, you'll have the opportunity to drive operational excellence and sustainability across a diverse portfolio of specialist research, laboratory, and teaching facilities. You'll work closely with senior leaders to align infrastructure with the Faculty's strategic objectives, contributing to the development of a new Faculty operations model.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Optimise Facility Management: Assist in the efficient management of facilities, working with managers and academics to ensure infrastructure meets teaching and research objectives.
  • Develop Infrastructure Strategies: Support the creation of key operational requirements for new faculty infrastructure proposals, including strategic functional briefs and models of delivery.
  • Drive Operational Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational enhancement in areas such as infrastructure and asset management, aligning with Faculty and University strategies.
  • Collaborate Across Faculties: Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring optimal management of shared services.

You may be a great fit if:

You have a degree in a relevant discipline with significant experience in project development and infrastructure planning within a complex organisation.

You may also:

  • Possess excellent project management skills and experience in briefing functional requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Have outstanding planning and organisational abilities.
  • Are comfortable working with complexity and navigating interdependencies.
  • Bring experience in research and laboratory environments.
