About the Role
The Project Team Manager will lead a team responsible for supporting projects, courses, events, and general administrative duties to ensure Melbourne Professional Education (MPE) programs are delivered on time and to required standards. This role involves managing project delivery, developing workflow processes, and fostering continuous improvement. The incumbent will work closely with academic and professional stakeholders to coordinate project timelines, budgets, and quality objectives, while building the team’s capability and managing key partnerships.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the Project Delivery team, fostering professional development and a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and career progression.
- Overseeing project workflows, resource allocation, and the use of project management tools to ensure timelines, quality, risk, and budget objectives are met.
- Collaborating with academic and professional staff to achieve high-quality outcomes and maintaining effective communication strategies with stakeholders.
- Managing operations, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and developing processes to improve efficiency in educational delivery while aligning with University strategies.
Who we are looking for
You will have strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to optimise team performance while fostering a positive, solution-focused environment. You will also be capable of strategic thinking, providing analytics, reporting, and advice within a large, complex organisation, and demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
You will also have:
- Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards them, along with extensive relevant experience, or equivalent expertise in management.
- Demonstrated expertise in applying quality assurance standards throughout design, production, and delivery processes.
- A track record of delivering successful commercial outcomes, including experience in finance and contract management.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage project scopes, budgets, resources, production schedules, and quality targets to achieve optimal results.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
