About the Role
This role will be within the Department of Physiotherapy and the Paeds CoLAB (Paediatric Collaborative for Learning, Allied health research and Beyond), a groups whose goal is to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people, and their families.
This position provides research support to the Paeds CoLAB group led by Professor Alicia Spittle and includes support to two large intervention trials for children born preterm: The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) funded study titled: Telehealth for early intervention to improve neurodevelopmental outcomes of infants born very preterm and their parents’ well-being: a randomised controlled trial (TEDI-Prem); and the MRFF funded study titled: Active-Prem.
This role will play a vital part in supporting the group and coordinating study activities, and maintaining effective communication with trial management groups and participating families.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating communications for the Paeds CoLAB under the direction of leadership
- Coordinating study assessments, including contacting study participants to schedule follow-up appointments, booking therapists and rooms, and creating appointment letters
- Managing participant communications, including sending assessment reminders, rescheduling appointments and coordinating with families for online sessions
Note: Given the end of the year is fast approaching, we are hoping to hold interviews for this position on the week commencing December 16th 2024 with a start for the position in February 2025.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking someone with a keen attention to detail and highly developed written and verbal communication skills, allowing them to relay information in a timely and effective manner to multiple stakeholders. Teamwork is crucial to this role as there will be interactions with a variety of professional collaborators from different areas. This person must have outstanding organisation skills and be adept a managing competing priorities and coordinating multiple administrative tasks simultaneously, ensuring all work is completed on time and to a high standard. Experience in health research or working with families is not essential for this position, though it would be highly regarded.
You will also have:
- A tertiary degree (or an equivalent degree or professional qualifications), or an equivalent combination of study and work experience relevant to the role
- Demonstrated high level of productivity including initiative, problem solving, judgement and organisational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as working collaboratively as part of a broader team to achieve goals and complete projects

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
