About the Role
The Manager for the Finance Systems Team acts as the key liaison between business stakeholders and development teams, ensuring that the Finance System meets the University's needs. This role involves capturing and translating requirements, supporting system enhancements, and contributing to the Finance Systems Roadmap. Additionally, the Manager oversees the product backlog, prioritising tasks and collaborating with Finance and IT stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions, with a focus on Workday Finance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing Finance Systems Teams, allocating workloads and maintaining the product backlog based on business priorities and stakeholder needs
  • Collaborating with ERP System Owner and Finance stakeholders to contribute to the Finance roadmap, oversee enhancements, support cases, and deliver updates to stakeholders
  • Leading defect resolution, scoping initiatives, reviewing designs, and coordinating user acceptance for new features and business rules in the Workday Finance system
  • Overseeing release management, ensuring smooth implementation of new capabilities, including planning, testing, deployment, and adoption of solutions

Who we are looking for
You will have strong experience contributing to product roadmaps and defining well-prioritised product backlogs that align with stakeholder needs. You will excel in communication and presentation, with a proven track record of managing Finance stakeholder groups and advocating for business value in prioritisation forums. You will also have experience leading teams to deliver value-based solutions and ideally have experience with Workday Finance.

You will also have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and proven experience in Finance processes; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • ITIL qualifications with service management experience in an operational environment advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience in implementation and BAU of Workday Finance, (experience in Dayforce and UKG or an equivalent Time and Attendance system advantageous) in complex organisations and having delivered software leveraging iterative/agile frameworks and practices to accelerate delivery of value

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
