About the Role
The Digital Producer (Events) will play a key role in supporting the planning and delivery of major events at the University of Melbourne, focusing on the effective implementation and adoption of the enterprise-wide events platform, Cvent. Working closely with stakeholders, the role involves managing digital event processes, ensuring an excellent user experience, and using Agile methodologies to balance project work with ongoing support and priorities. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to seamless end to end digital experiences for the University in a purpose-driven environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Scheduling, planning, and optimising the Cvent experience for key University events, including Open Day and Commencement Ceremonies, as well as other events like public lectures and conferences.
- Establishing relationships with internal stakeholders to develop event briefs suitable for support in the enterprise system.
- Applying user-centred design principles to create high-value digital assets and improve user journeys through data-informed Information Architecture.
- Managing day-to-day digital activities for the Cvent platform, including triaging support requests, providing training to users, and maintaining alignment with University web standards and guidelines.
Who we are looking for
You will have excellent stakeholder management, collaboration, and organisational skills, alongside strong written and verbal communication abilities. You will also bring experience working with marketing teams, particularly in the higher education sector, to develop and publish web content, a solid understanding of managing service queues, and familiarity with Agile working methods.
You will also have:
- Extensive experience in marketing, communications, or higher education, with a tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in building and maintaining websites or event platforms that meet University web standards, including accessibility and branding.
- A strong understanding of user-centred design, with the ability to create engaging web-based event experiences that guide users seamlessly.
- Demonstrated experience with event management systems, preferably Cvent, and solid knowledge of web development and project management processes.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
