Your next career opportunity
As a Senior Scholarship Officer at the University of Melbourne, you will work in the Scholarship team primarily supporting operational excellence through the processing of student payments and amendments to scholarship and providing high-standard customer service to students and staff within the University. You'll have the opportunity to implement process improvements and oversee the end-to-end process of various scholarship programs. You will also have a focus on quality assurance of the wider Scholarship team. Your role will directly impact students' academic journeys, making this a rewarding position for those passionate about education and student support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Drive Operational Excellence: Manage an Operations roster of tasks, allocating work and ensuring tasks are completed within expected timelines and in accordance with documented processes, practices and guidelines. This includes sending scholarship offers, activating scholarships/ payments and processing variations to scholarship benefits.
- Support Stakeholder Management: Assist in day-to-day management of scholarship services, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality customer service.
- Manage Scholarship Programs: Oversee the application, selection, bestowal, and management activities for multiple scholarship programs.
- Implement Process Improvements: Propose, design, and implement enhancements to practices and processes based on analysis and stakeholder feedback.
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain accurate records and reporting, adhering to university policies and procedures.

You are a detail-oriented professional with strong organisational skills and excellent communication abilities. You must have a proven track record of being able to work under pressure, manage competing demands while maintaining accuracy, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
You may also:
- Have a tertiary qualification and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience in a service-oriented organisation.
- Have excellent administrative, analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve stakeholder queries
- Demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality service while managing multiple demands under pressure.
- Have strong attention to detail
- Show proficiency in learning and using business enterprise systems and using MS Excel to compile, analyse and manipulate data for work processing and reporting purposes
- Exhibit a proactive approach to process improvement and change initiatives and a capacity to operationalise changes across a team

Your new team – Student and Scholarly Services
Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.
The Scholarships team is responsible for the end-to-end management of over 150 University-wide scholarship programs for undergraduate, graduate and research students, and the delivery of scholarship services on behalf of other divisions in the University.
