Your next career opportunity
As the Clinical School Officer at St Vincent's Clinical School, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of the University of Melbourne's Doctor of Medicine programme. You'll have the opportunity to coordinate student placements across renowned healthcare institutions, manage assessments, and provide essential administrative support to senior staff. This role offers you the chance to develop your skills in a complex, dynamic environment while contributing to the education of future medical professionals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Administer MD Programme: Manage timetabling, allocations, assessments, and curriculum planning for medical students at St Vincent's Clinical School.
- Coordinate Student Placements: Oversee allocations across St Vincent's Health, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and the Royal Eye & Ear Hospital for MD students and clinical electives.
- Provide Excellent Customer Service: Offer accurate information and support to students, academic staff, and hospital personnel.
- Support Assessment Processes: Assist with written and clinical exams, ensuring smooth execution of student evaluations.

You are a highly organised professional with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of managing complex administrative tasks and providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced medical education environment.
You may also:
- Possess a relevant tertiary qualification with experience in administration or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Have excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong initiative for process improvement and problem-solving.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and adept at maintaining accurate records and databases.
- Have experience in or understanding of the health sector and/or higher education sector (desirable).

The Department of Medical Education was established as a department within the Melbourne Medical School in 2015. It has responsibility for the delivery of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) course, research in medical education and a range of professional development postgraduate and non-award programs. The department employs 160+ fixed-term and permanent staff in collaboration with our health service partners to deliver the education, research and engagement activities of the department. This is complemented by a large, actively engaged network of over 180 honorary staff.
