As a Special Consideration Assistant at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a vital role in supporting students facing challenging circumstances. You'll have the opportunity to assess and process special consideration applications, ensuring fair academic outcomes for students in need. Your attention to detail, critical thinking, and commitment to student support will directly impact the academic journey of many individuals, making this a rewarding position for those passionate about student success.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assess Applications: Determine eligibility for special consideration based on parameters established by the Coordinator, Special Consideration
  • Process Outcomes: Provide students with relevant academic outcomes as delegated by schools and faculties.
  • Manage Records: Maintain accurate and complete case notes using university administrative systems, ensuring privacy and compliance.
  • Communicate Effectively: Professionally engage with students and faculty stakeholders via email, CRM systems, and phone regarding special consideration applications.

You may be a great fit if:

You are a detail-oriented professional with strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to supporting student success through fair and equitable processes.

You may also:

  • Have a relevant post-secondary qualification or equivalent combination of administrative experience and education.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy in sensitive matters.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a high-volume environment.
  • Have experience using CRM systems and complex databases (desirable).
