Your next career opportunity
As Academic Programs Manager, you'll lead our Academic Programs and Clinical Placement teams, overseeing administration for all graduate coursework and research programs. You'll provide strategic advice on academic matters, drive innovation in student services, and ensure exceptional educational experiences. This role offers you the chance to shape the future of health sciences education whilst working closely with School leadership to meet strategic goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead Academic Administration: Oversee all aspects of graduate program administration, including online, coursework, and research training programs.
  • Drive Strategic Improvements: Implement reforms in student administration and clinical placement management to ensure best practices and resource efficiency.
  • Ensure Compliance and Quality: Provide expert advice on academic matters, ensuring compliance with University policies and maintaining high-quality service standards.
  • Manage Student Recruitment and Retention: Develop and execute strategies to meet load targets and improve student satisfaction.
  • Represent the School: Participate in key committees and manage program development processes through University approval channels.

You may be a great fit if:
You are an experienced leader in academic administration with a strategic mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of driving innovation and improvement in student-facing services within higher education.

You may also:

  • Hold a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or have equivalent experience.
  • Possess significant experience in academic program administration and student services.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and operational planning skills.
  • Excel in motivating staff and building an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Have outstanding communication skills and the ability to interpret complex policies.
  • Be proficient in student management systems like StudentOne.
  • Understand academic structures and policies of the University of Melbourne.
