About the Role
The Faculty of Arts at the University of Melbourne is seeking a Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Project Officer to drive meaningful change through the implementation of the Faculty's Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan.
Reporting to the Associate Dean, Diversity & Inclusion, you will play a key role in advancing initiatives that promote equity and inclusivity within the Faculty. This includes supporting the development of the Recruitment Framework for Diversity and Inclusion, coordinating impactful events, workshops, training programs and providing support to D&I Working Groups and Committee meetings.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Using expertise in project management to support the implementation of the Faculty of Arts Diversity & Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan.
- Assisting with the implementation of D&I initiatives, including the development of a Recruitment Framework for Diversity and Inclusion.
- Organising D&I events, workshops and training sessions as required, in line with the Faculty’s events processes and procedures.
- Assisting with the management of Faculty D&I Working Groups.
- Providing support for D&I Committee meetings.
- Management of the Faculty D&I website and Faculty Intranet D&I resource page.
- Monitoring and managing competing project priorities and timelines, ensuring any changes required are incorporated and communicated.
- Building relationships and partner with Faculty staff as required, to ensure appropriate progress on projects.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a skilled professional with expertise in project management and diversity and inclusion. You bring strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with advanced communication abilities to deliver high-quality reports and content.
Working collaboratively across teams, you will drive innovation, streamline processes, and build trusted relationships while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
You will also have:
- Relevant qualifications and experience and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- Strong planning, organisational and time-management skills including the ability to effectively multi-task and manage competing deadlines.
- Proficiency in organising, analysing and synthesising information.
- Demonstrated capability to exercise initiative and judgement with excellent problem-solving and prioritisation skills.
- Advanced written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality communications including presentations, reports, and other written communications such as web content.
- Proven ability to contribute towards innovation and continuous improvement with respect to work processes including supporting the implementation of new systems and ways of working.
