About the Role
Education Abroad Advisors manage learning abroad services for both incoming international exchange students and University of Melbourne students pursuing overseas study. They handle application administration, deliver frontline services, and build effective relationships with international partners, students, and university colleagues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide accurate and timely advice and support to students on learning abroad programs, demonstrating understanding of relevant policies and procedures. Proactively respond to student inquiries with subject matter expertise and consistent information.
- Process and assess incoming and outgoing student applications, including correspondence with applicants and international partners, application progression, follow-up on supplementary documentation, and maintenance of the student database for reporting.
- Provision of services to international students to support transition to and academic success at Melbourne including housing, coordination and delivery of orientation activities, academic and pastoral support in conjunction with the wider Academic Services team
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including academic divisions, Student & Scholarly Services colleagues
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate excels in interpersonal and oral communication within cross-cultural contexts, demonstrates proven stakeholder management and problem-solving skills, and exhibits flexible thinking to develop innovative programs, along with highly developed time management and prioritisation abilities to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
You will also have:
- The appointee will have: Undergraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience
- Experience in the provision of learning abroad and student exchange services or other complex student programs within a higher education context
- Demonstrate COO values by acting in the best interest of your employer; displaying service excellence by striving to deliver beyond expectations and taking ownership of the delivery; and value working collaboratively, connecting with people and building relationships in your workplace.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
