About the Role
Established in 2018, Built Environments Learning + Teaching (BEL+T) focuses on advancing education in built environment disciplines through innovative teaching and research. The role offers an exciting opportunity to apply expertise in digital learning design and pedagogy, leveraging digital platforms, tools, and data to support the development of cutting-edge teaching practices.
The position involves contributing to BEL+T projects, including managing updates to the BEL+T site and documenting innovative approaches for broader application across the Faculty. Collaborating closely with the BEL+T team, the successful applicant will play a vital role in shaping teaching excellence through Faculty and University initiatives such as Learning and Teaching Initiative grants. This is a fixed-term academic position with opportunities for impactful contributions to the Faculty’s teaching and research objectives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting project activities of the BELT+T group, working with the BEL-T group lead
- Contributing to subject and curriculum development projects with a focus on the design of digital resources
- Designing, documenting and producing best-practice standards; applying best-practice usability and accessibility principles for all design outcomes; and engaging in continuous improvement with a focus on teaching quality
Who We Are Looking For
You possess proven expertise in learning and assessment design, digital pedagogies, and educational innovation, with a strong focus on creating student-centred learning experiences and resources. Your proficiency in digital learning tools and practices includes expertise in Canvas LMS, integration with other platforms, and content creation systems like enabling innovative and engaging outcomes.
With experience in blended learning, digital and hybrid pedagogies, and the application of digital tools in higher education, you combine excellent organisational and project management skills to deliver high-quality educational initiatives. Your ability to work both independently and collaboratively ensures effective implementation of complex projects and student success.
You will also have:
- A relevant qualification and/or experience focused on the application of learning design theory in practice
- Experience with the production of digital learning resources that include but are not limited to the use of video and multimedia production techniques
- Excellent visual, written and oral communication skills

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
