About the Role
The STEAM Communicator will join a dynamic team at Museums and Collections, supporting the delivery of innovative STEAM programs. Based at the STEM Centre of Excellence in Science Gallery Melbourne, you will engage secondary students in hands-on, design-thinking experiences. Collaborating with teachers and industry partners, you will inspire the next generation of STEM leaders. This role requires a passion for STEAM, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating inclusive and engaging learning experiences.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging STEAM programs on-site and online, collaborating with industry and community partners.
- Developing and implementing innovative e-learning and on-site programs, creating high-quality learning resources.
- Contributing to strategic planning and program evaluation, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Managing resources, maintaining professional development, and promoting a positive work culture.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a highly skilled individual with a passion for STEAM education. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in delivering creative, technology-driven projects that inspire and empower young people. Experience in fields like VR, AR, gaming and advanced manufacturing is highly valued. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential for working effectively within a team and engaging with diverse audiences. A relevant education qualification or experience in museum or cultural institution settings would be advantageous.
You will also have:
- Vocational, Graduate or Bachelor level qualifications (or higher) in any of Education, Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, Arts, Technology or relevant STEAM disciplines.
- Education qualification or equivalent experience delivering learning STEAM programs in the Museum and cultural institution sector is desirable.
- Experience in delivering and differentiating innovative STEAM programs for diverse secondary school-age learners.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
