About the Role
The Teaching Support Officer plays a vital role in the Academic Support Office (ASO), providing administrative support for the Faculty’s coursework programs. Key responsibilities include managing assessments, results processing, special consideration applications, and extension requests, as well as maintaining accurate academic records and supporting staff with teaching resources. This position ensures the efficient delivery of academic services and fosters strong relationships with stakeholders to support high-quality teaching and learning outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to cyclic coursework and non-award program delivery administration, including results processing, teaching support materials (including via the LMS), program delivery governance support, data and records administration and cohort management.
  • Contribute to the administration of student support via the University’s special consideration and extension applications process, this included liaising with subject coordinators, our students, and central services.
  • Contribute to the scheduling of the faculty’s examinations both written and practical-based assessment.
  • Provide administrative support for Board of Examiners Meetings.

Who We Are Looking For
You will have excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively. You will also possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to collaborate within a creative arts environment and develop productive working relationships with academic and professional colleagues, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

You will also have:

  • A degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Technical proficiency in general computing and the use of databases and the ability to learn and implement software systems and solutions. High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, and excel).
  • Knowledge of academic policy, administrative frameworks, and systems.
  • Experience within a creative arts environment.
  • Experience within a tertiary education environment.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
