About the Role
The Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst provides critical financial analysis and insights to senior management, supporting both short- and long-term financial sustainability at the University. In this role, you will drive the financial planning cycle, offer strategic guidance to Finance Business Partners, and monitor financial performance to inform key business decisions. Your expertise in data visualisation and storytelling will be essential in enhancing financial planning activities across the University.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting annual financial cycles, manage budget consolidations, and enhance the University’s financial management model.
  • Conducting detailed analysis to inform development of key financial performance reports. Identify risks and opportunities and provide strategic financial insights to support informed decision making.
  • Managing data uploads, ensure accuracy in planning tools, and develop templates and models to improve financial planning.
  • Building relationships with key finance and corporate teams and support training on financial planning processes.


Who we are looking for
You will bring expertise in financial management and planning within complex environments, with exceptional analytical skills and a keen attention to detail. You will excel in distilling complex financial data into meaningful insights, communicating clearly with senior stakeholders, and effectively managing and prioritising tasks to deliver high standards and drive continuous improvement.

You will also have:

  • Full qualification as a Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or possess graduate/postgraduate qualifications in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent mix of qualifications and experience.
  • Proficiency in large financial planning tools, such as Hyperion, Workday or Adaptive Planning.
  • Familiarity and experience with business intelligence tools like MicroStrategy.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
