About the Role
The Project Coordinator at Australian BioCommons supports the Human Genome Informatics (HGI) division by providing essential coordination and management across a range of national-scale human genomics projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of initiatives like the GUARDIANS program, involving financial and legal support, timeline management, and stakeholder engagement. The position contributes to broader BioCommons operations while.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate in the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects within the HGI team and broader BioCommons operations.
- Support the implementation of project management and operational processes, while proactively identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Coordinate with HR, finance, legal, and other relevant functions to ensure seamless project execution.
Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to effectively plan and prioritise tasks in a complex environment. They will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, fostering relationships with stakeholders and efficiently managing multiple tasks while supporting project tracking, reporting, and budgeting.
You will also have:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project coordination or administration within a research or academic environment.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively plan, prioritise, and execute activities within a complex environment.
- Excellent written communication skills, including preparation of project financial and status reports.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
