About the Role 
Are you passionate about social media and its power to engage and communicate? As a Social Media Advisor, you'll be the expert guiding your Faculty grouping in leveraging social media to achieve its marketing, communications, and engagement goals. You'll publish to, moderate and optimise social media channels, ensuring we connect effectively with both broad and targeted audiences. By working across your Faculty grouping, you'll ensure that our content and strategic campaigns are shared through the most suitable social media platforms.

Collaborating with the Divisional Marketing Lead, this role works strategically to create engaging content, reports on engagement effectiveness and works to build effective stakeholder relationships. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Collaborate with the Divisional Marketing Lead to provide regular updates on the effectiveness of the Faculty grouping’s social media engagement.
  • Assist the Social Media Lead (Organic Channels) and Senior Social Media Advisor (Issues and Earned Media) with reputational management and issue resolution. 
  • Produce, curate, re-purpose and publish relevant and accessible content that is engaging, innovative and in alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Offer support, training, and guidance on social media strategy, operations, and reporting to academics and researchers.

 
Who we are looking for 
You will excel in stakeholder management, creative thinking, and managing competing deadlines. With experience in social media management, you have working experience in higher education, government, or a similarly large and complex organisation. Your ability to analyse sensitive information, exercise sound judgement, show initiative and drive social media engagement, along with strong written and verbal communication skills, will enable you to thrive in a collaborative, agile environment while maintaining a high ethical standard. 

You will also have: 

  • Extensive work experience in social media management 
  • Demonstrated work experience in data analysis and copywriting 
  • Technical proficiency in social media management across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, and LinkedIn

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
