About the Role
The Senior Librarian (Online Learning Resources) is a key role in supporting the library’s learning and teaching program. This position is responsible for coordinating and developing high-quality online learning resources that align with the university's strategic priorities and learning and teaching goals. The Senior Librarian works collaboratively with colleagues to ensure these resources effectively support the development of students' scholarly and digital capabilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate the production, maintenance and review of the Library’s university-wide online learning resources to support students’ scholarly and digital capabilities, including Library Guides, Canvas LMS and web content, and videos.
  • Coordinate service improvement projects and lead cross-functional teams of library staff to enhance the Library’s online learning resources.
  • Manage and maintain key systems, platforms, and technologies used within the Library Learning Program to develop students’ scholarly and digital capabilities.
  • Coordinate professional development initiatives to enhance Library Learning and Engagement staff digital capabilities, particularly relating to online learning, pedagogy, educational technologies, and digital experience.

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills with the ability to influence others effectively. They have excellent verbal and written communication, a keen attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.

You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in librarianship or a relevant discipline and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
  • Eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering online learning resources to support students’ scholarly and digital capability development in a university environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading service improvement projects to enhance students’ digital experience of engaging with Library services, resources, spaces or programs.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
