About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a relationship manager to explore and focus building new relationships with STEM donors (Faculties of Science, and Engineering and Information Technology). You will thrive on meeting new donors and in building new pipeline. You will be part of the STEM team of fundraisers reporting to Director, Philanthropy STEM Advancement. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage a portfolio of 60 prospective major gift donors

  • Work with cluster fundraising and university-wide colleagues, with a strong focus on identifying and qualifying prospective major gift donors on opportunities for gifts above $250,000.


Who we are looking for

Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to negotiate and influence effectively and collaboratively to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Highly proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated skills in introducing external stakeholders to the value of supporting the University of Melbourne.

You will also have:

  • Extensive and demonstrated - experience in generating income through fundraising or other means with demonstrable experience of working at a senior level to develop and execute a successful fund raising strategy
  • track record in identifying, researching, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding stakeholder relationships, both independently and as part of a team

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
