About the Role
The Department of Infectious Diseases at the Doherty Institute is seeking a Clinical Trial Coordinator and Monitor to support two international adaptive platform trials: ROADMAP, focused on prosthetic joint infection treatments, and SNAP, the largest trial on Staphylococcus aureus bloodstream infections globally. The role involves facilitating site communication and coordination, handling governance submissions, data queries, site training, and monitoring visits, while working closely with the teams based at the Hunter Medical Research Institute and the Doherty Institute.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide project coordination and support for a select number of sites in Australia, including administrative support, managing site agreements and payments, assisting in governance and regulatory submissions, communicating trial updates, and answering site queries.
  • Review site documentation and approvals and assist with training and initiation visits to prepare sites for activation.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of template documentation for study protocols, informed consent forms, operational and regulatory documents, and other clinical research documentation as necessary.
  • Coordinate site monitoring, progress and documentation review by reviewing site trial documents, performing source document verification (SDV), ensuring the site has carried out study procedures according to the protocol, ethical and regulatory requirements.

Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate possesses excellent organisational and administrative skills, with a high level of attention to detail, the ability to adapt to evolving project demands, and strong communication abilities.

You will also have:

  • A degree in science, health science, biomedical science or nursing or extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience in the planning, conduct or coordination of clinical research including clinical trial monitoring.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with the ability to work with a high level of attention to detail in relation to monitoring, preparation of documentation, compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to support collaborator interaction, including preparation of minutes, assistance with summary reporting documents and communicating with external and internal parties.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
