About the Role
Financial integrity and strategic decision-making are paramount, and as Finance Analyst you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our financial operations. At Melbourne Online, we are not just educators; we're leaders in education, and this newly created role is key to this transformative journey.

Responsible for executing all financial transactions and managing finance services, this role ensures compliance with financial policies and procedures. Additionally, the Finance Analyst supports financial accounting, tax-related activities, and provides insightful financial analysis to inform business strategies and objectives.

You will possess strong financial judgement, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, contributing to the success and growth of Melbourne Online.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Execute all financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, bank reconciliations, and bookkeeping activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies and procedures. 
  • Manage finance services, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external partners to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure the smooth functioning of finance-related processes. 
  • Support financial accounting and tax-related activities, collaborating with the finance team to prepare financial statements, assist with audits, and ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making processes, conducting variance analysis, trend analysis, and other financial assessments to inform business strategies and objectives

Who we are looking for
We’re looking for a Finance Analyst with strong attention to detail and accuracy and a commitment to producing high-quality work and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels. You will work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and have a strong sense of initiative and accountability for delivering results.

You will also have:

  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA)
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, accounting, or finance-related roles, with a track record of executing financial transactions
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations,
  • Ability to interpret financial data, analyse trends, and provide actionable insights

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
