About the Role
The Strategic Advisor supports financial transformation and operational improvement across the university. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, they identify, develop, and implement strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and overall performance. They conduct in-depth financial and operational analyses to provide actionable insights for informed decision-making. By developing clear models and reports, you will empower stakeholders to make data-driven decisions that enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency across the university.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis to support evidence-based decision-making, develop clear models and reports, and translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the CFOG team to identify, prioritize, and implement initiatives that align with the university's goals. Develop best practices and performance measures to enhance efficiency and optimize operations.
  • Understand stakeholder needs and challenges, facilitate workshops and meetings, and gather input to inform financial transformation and improvement initiatives.

Who we are looking for
We are seeking a highly analytical individual with a proven track record in driving financial transformation and operational improvement. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, strong project management abilities, and a deep understanding of financial and non-financial decision-making. Experience in higher education and familiarity with ERP systems like Workday would be a plus but are not essential.

You will also have:

  • A higher education qualification in a relevant discipline with proven and relevant experience in a similar role within a large and complex organisation; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth analysis and provide actionable insights that support evidence-based decision making.
  • Membership of a professional accounting body (ACCA, CA ANZ, CPA or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
