Opportunity: Located within Chancellery and reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Global, Culture and Engagement (DVC GCE), the Pro Vice-Chancellor Engagement (PVCE) will support the work of the DVC GCE in developing and implementing the University’s strategy of external engagement. 

You will lead the Engagement Cluster within the GCE portfolio and be integral to the university’s outreach efforts, fostering vibrant connections with communities and developing our social license strategies.

With a track record of collaboration, you will work closely with the GCE leadership team and other portfolio and faculty leaders to ensure our initiatives resonate and align with the university’s strategic priorities.   With an eye on the future state, you will be able to nurture existing initiatives, shape new strategies and priorities, track progress, and ensure resources are wisely allocated.

Moreover, the PVC-E is a matchmaker, forging powerful alliances both within and beyond our walls. You will be a catalyst for meaningful engagement activity, whether it's teaming up with the Office of the Provost to pioneer Widening Participation programs or fostering collaborations for Anti-Racism initiatives. Beyond that, you're on the lookout for dynamic external allies, nurturing relationships that fuel our collective ambitions.

Additionally, it is desirable that the candidate is comfortable with communicating in a language other than English and a research and teaching background relating to social impact will also be well regarded.

About: The Global Culture and Engagement portfolio sits within the Chancellery Division, and is led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Culture and Engagement). Its role is to lead, convene and collaborate with our local and global communities to position our institution as a national, regional, and global destination and partner of choice. This is informed by our Indigenous history and heritage, to extend reach and deliver tangible benefits for society. The portfolio specifically contributes to internationalisation and global engagement, government affairs, global and cultural partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and activation of the cultural life of the university through arts and culture.
