About the Role
Oversee a small, high-performing team and work to drive innovation, streamline processes, and ensure excellence in the delivery of the Faculty of Education’s programmes and courses. This role demands strategic vision and operational expertise, requiring you to manage resources effectively, oversee academic processes, and champion evidence-based decision-making aligned with the Faculty’s strategic priorities. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless coordination and continual improvement of academic programmes and the student experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the Academic Programs Team: Providing leadership, mentorship, and support to the team. Overseeing academic processes such as Board of Examiners, Special Consideration, and academic progress, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Driving operational excellence: Developing and refining administrative processes, timetabling, and subject scheduling to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Managing the Faculty’s Learning Management System (LMS) and class registration processes, resolving issues, and enhancing user experiences for staff and students alike.
  • Enhancing the student and staff experience: Coordinating the Subject Experience Survey (SES) process, promoting engagement, and analysing feedback to drive improvements. Managing communication with staff and students through well-crafted guides, schedules, and resources to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Supporting decision-making and resource management: Analysing data and preparing insightful reports to inform Faculty decisions. Monitoring and managing budgets, scholarships, and gift expenditure, ensuring compliance and the effective use of resources in alignment with strategic priorities.

You also have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, combined with substantial experience or an equivalent blend of education, training, and practical expertise.
  • Expertise in academic administration and processes, demonstrating proficiency in managing complex academic operations.
  • Strong technical and analytical capabilities. Possessing advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and experience working with university systems. Skills in data analysis and reporting to support decision-making and process optimisation.
  • Experience in managing digital learning systems and resources. Proven ability to oversee and improve the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) for subjects and communities.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
