About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Health Promotion Manager, you will play a critical role in advancing the Centre for Excellence in Rural Sexual Health's (CERSH) vision of ensuring all rural Victorians have access to quality sexual health care.
Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate and deliver the STI-X project, focusing on expanding the reach and return rate of the STI test kits, with plans to include syphilis and hepatitis self-collected sampling as it becomes available.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate the expansion and validation of the STI test kit distribution system through the STI-X vending machines.
- Lead community engagement efforts to ensure successful uptake of the STI-X project, including building partnerships with local leaders, healthcare providers, and community organisations.
- Engage with community stakeholders to understand and address specific concerns, create tailored informational campaigns, and foster trust and credibility within the community.
- Conduct ongoing data collection and reporting for the STI vending machine initiative, contributing valuable insights into the project's impact and effectiveness.
Who We Are Looking For
You will possess a relevant tertiary clinical qualification or relevant clinical experience in healthcare management or healthcare programs in a rural or regional environment.
You have demonstrated experience in developing, managing, and delivering innovative health initiatives or programs, particularly those enhancing sexual health services for rural communities.
You will also have:
- A comprehensive understanding of the Australian healthcare system, clinical governance, and the unique challenges of the rural and regional healthcare environment.
- High-level interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to build partnerships that advance shared objectives in research projects, health promotion, and service accessibility.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to exercise initiative in a dynamic work environment and work with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with typical university structures and systems, as well as a deep appreciation of the workings of complex organisations.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
