About the Role 

The Communications Manager will be a critical enabler in Melbourne Online's launch to market and roadmap deployment journey. This role will involve developing and executing communications strategies for students, staff and university stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen understanding of the University, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams to deliver clear, compelling and consistent messaging on the Melbourne Online vision, value proposition and student experience. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Developing and executing a communications plan to engage internal stakeholders, including students and faculty, throughout their journey with Melbourne Online. 

  • Creating and implementing effective communication strategies to support staff engagement and recognition of company values. 

  • Collaborating with internal teams, including SASS and central Communications and Marketing, to plan, coordinate, and deliver high-quality communications across multiple channels. 

Who we are looking for 

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in delivering impactful customer and internal communications within a large organisation. They will be adept at building relationships, navigating complexity, and thinking creatively. Additionally, they will be highly motivated, ethical, and confident in providing strategic advice. 

You will also have: 

  • Substantial experience working on customer and/or internal stakeholder communications delivery, where a measurable impact could be demonstrated. 

  • Demonstrated ability to craft a strategic narrative and execute through a variety of channels that complement each other. 

  • Demonstrated ability to assess how digital capabilities best complement in person interactions for impact.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
