About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate researcher to contribute to cutting-edge health economics in the field of genomics and precision medicine. Working as part of a research team, you will be expected to support, develop, and manage a program of health economics research under the direction of A/Prof Ilias Goranitis (Unit Head) and A/Prof Chris Schilling (Deputy Unit Head). This role offers the chance to collaborate with a dynamic team, shape national health policy through impactful research, and advance your expertise while delivering meaningful healthcare innovations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting high-quality research in health economics, including economic evaluation, micro-costing, and preference elicitation methodologies.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to peer-reviewed publications, grant applications, and presentations at conferences.
  • Supporting the development of new projects, including training and outreach activities to promote health economics within the University and its affiliates.
  • Responding to enquiries from external stakeholders and contributing to the group’s engagement initiatives

Who We Are Looking For
We’re looking for people who demonstrate a passion for advancing health economics research, a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams. You’ll be motivated by the opportunity to influence healthcare policy and deliver meaningful impact through high-quality research.

You will also have:

  • A postgraduate qualification in health economics, economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Proven experience in economic evaluation, micro-costing, or quantitative research methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical software such as STATA or R.
  • A track record of contributing to peer-reviewed publications and research grant applications.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
