About the Role
The Admissions and Selection Officer (Arts) in the Future Students team oversees admissions and selection for graduate coursework, Honours and talent-based programs within the Arts, Fine Arts, and Music Divisional Group. This role focuses on assessing applications, providing exceptional support to prospective students and selection committees, enhancing admissions processes, and fostering effective collaboration across Future Students to meet recruitment targets and manage enrolment limits.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide support to the Admissions and Selection Coordinator (Arts) on the admissions plan
and undertake ongoing review and monitoring against plan to meet KPI’s.
- Support and provide advice on admissions and selection processes and support the course selection committees.
- Accurate processing, assessment and selection of course and scholarship applications within agreed timelines, in accordance with agreed criteria.
- Work closely with colleagues, including the Future Students Hub Admissions team, to ensure the fastest possible application turn-around time.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate excels in organisation and multitasking, with a strong commitment[KM1] [KM2] to client service and collaboration. They bring excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to problem-solving, and attention to detail, contributing to continuous improvement and effective team dynamics.
You will also have:
- A relevant degree and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated high level of administration skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in databases and the suite of Microsoft applications.
- Demonstrate COO Portfolio values by acting in the best interest of your employer; displaying service excellence by striving to deliver beyond expectations and taking ownership of the delivery; and value working collaboratively, connecting with people and building relationships in your workplace.
- Previous experience in a Higher Education admissions administrative context would be highly regarded.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
